Event Highlights: The Greater Baton Rouge Clean Cities Coalition and the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources, along with sponsors Apache Corporation and Royal Nissan, and with help from the Louisiana Oil and Gas Association and the Louisiana Propane Association, hosted lawmakers, government officials, and clean fuel stakeholders for a one-day AFV Odyssey Symposium and Vehicle Expo at the Capital Park Welcome Center. Highlights included a second line jazz performance by a local musician to keep things lively. Notables in attendance included Mayor-President of East Baton Rouge Parish Kip Holden, keynote speaker (Louisiana Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry) Dr. Mike Strain and Louisiana representatives Robert Billiot, James Fannin, Henry Burns, Dalton Honore and Franklin Foil.

Host Site Coordinator: Greater Baton Rouge Clean Cities Coalition, Baton Rouge, LA

Attendees: 200 Students, Educators, General Public

Participating Sponsors / Partners: Entergy – The Power of People and the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources

Event Highlights: Various stakeholders were on hand displaying vehicles that they use in their fleets along with some personal vehicles. Additionally, sponsor Entergy had two CNG work trucks. The BR airport had one CNG Crown Vic policecar and two CNG F150s. The Baton Rouge Dept. of Public Works had a CNG Civic, and the Dept. of Environmental Quality had one of its hybrid Civics. A local dealership came out to support the Odyssey Day event and had a new Civic hybrid on display. A local paper’s staff photographers stopped by to photograph the event and interview some of the vendors. Entergy provided refreshments including finger foods, brownies, and water for the numerous attendees that stopped by throughout the day.
