Crawford W. Long Middle School, Atlanta

2012

Attendance: 25

Event Highlights: The Crawford W. Long Middle School Odyssey event began with the viewing of the Odyssey 2012 video by sixth through eighth grade students.  Groups of students then built alternative fuel vehicle (AFV) models, which included wind and elastic, electric, solar power, and air and water pressure cars.  Students were also engaged in internet and library research on their specific AFVs, and displayed their findings through a poster project that was accompanied by a demonstration of their AFV model to fellow students. Students also raced their cars against one another to see which car performed the best.  Students presented their research and AFV models, which were displayed in the school’s foyer near the front entrance.
